All of Pfleiderer's activities are governed by dealing responsibly with our natural resources – that is also why no trees are felled specifically for Pfleiderer's products.

Fifteen percent of our raw materials consists of down wood and forestry thinnings from FSC and PEFC certified, sustainably managed forests. Sawmill and industrial waste wood make up the remaining 85%. We pay strict attention to ensuring that we do not process any contaminated wood to guarantee that our structural construction, as well as our furniture making and interior design products are healthy to live with, and can later be introduced into cascade and circular economy systems in order to either be turned into new materials and products, or used for thermal recycling without difficulty. However, we are not resting on our laurels with regard to what we have already achieved. For example, we aim to increase the proportion of post-consumer recycled wood we use to manufacture our products to 50% by next year. Without quality compromises, of course!
