Last but not least, LivingBoard is the significantly more home-healthy coarse chipboard. Since it is made almost exclusively from low-resin spruce, the VOC emissions meet the strict requirements of the AgBB scheme. Normal OSB boards, on the other hand, are usually made of resin-rich pine and therefore have higher emissions. In addition, the binder in our boards is formaldehyde-free, which means that LivingBoard products are significantly below the emission requirements according to EN 13986 (E1) and meet the standards of the "Blue Angel" eco-label. Architect Piotr Kuczia was faced with the challenge of building a small house for a family of four on a very narrow and long plot of land with a low budget. From the very beginning, Kuczia designed his "Wormhouse" as a sustainable, environmentally friendly project: The basic construction is made of the moisture-resistant PremiumBoard MFP P5 particleboard. Maximum energy efficiency is ensured by the innovative insulation with a membrane façade, the ribs of which were realized with the lightweight and resource-saving LivingBoard board from Pfleiderer. Even the panel offcuts were processed further. Thus, not only an adjustable bed construction was created from the LivingBoard scraps, but also a seating area made of foldable furniture. Kuczia chose LivingBoard because it is particularly easy to process and is also manufactured with a completely formaldehyde-free binder. As a result, the board's emission values even fall below the specifications of the "Blue Angel" environmental label.
