All of Pfleiderer's activities are governed by dealing responsibly with our natural resources – that is also why no trees are felled specifically for Pfleiderer's products. Fifteen percent of our raw materials consists of down wood and forestry thinnings from FSC and PEFC certified, sustainably managed forests. Sawmill and industrial waste wood make up the remaining 85%. We pay strict attention to ensuring that we do not process any contaminated wood to guarantee that our structural construction, as well as our furniture making and interior design products are healthy to live with, and can later be introduced into cascade and circular economy systems in order to either be turned into new materials and products, or used for thermal recycling without difficulty. However, we are not resting on our laurels with regard to what we have already achieved. As part of the Paris climate protection agreement, the goal was set of limiting global warming to 1.5 0C by reducing climate-relevant emissions.
