While a few other subreddits may have an extremely visible mod presence, that is not something we are interested in. In a nutshell, we believe the subreddit ought to be the community's voice, not the community's voice led by subreddit mods.
I don't think anybody in any capability expects a plug and play solution nor expects anyone in the mod group to break their back for no cover. Filters require maintenance to properly function, take spam filters for email; that's decades of work to be certain that the Nigerian prince doesn't make it to your inbox and hell occasionally it doesn't work, occasionally my 2FA ends up in spam, but we don't delete a spam filter. I just want to clarify that I am not here grilling you at some presser or some thing just having a dialog.
I believe this only reinforces not only the argument for getting an Automod notify prospective new posters of the'gentleman's agreement', or even formally separating them. You have a virtual'desire path' going on where your neighborhood has decided to segregate the content, do not you think you should hear them? These are all growing pains and nothing which can not be sorted out over time, its one thing to say that no one has the drive or ability to keep a filter right now but please don't make it out to be an impossible effort. In addition, I feel like I'm at a soviet court house and the bailiff was told to shoot the guy who jaywalked, bro you don't have to delete OSRS or spilled articles in this case just have automod comment on it with info pointing folks in the ideal direction.
Unless we're talking about a filter restricting what could be stated on the subreddit I am really confused on why anybody would want to skip a filter which provides them with information. If supposedlyy'all attempted to knock down some key phrases or complaints being chucked about this sub from time to time then yeah it is a'difficulty' (You men would not be the first game sub to possess it, blink twice if Jagex hasy'all hostage) for you guys but I do not see many people hoping to submit"connection - entirely no ph15h guiys" or even"I feel this is a p h 1 5 h ing attempt guys" or"look at this cool shed I got on oh ess are ess" just so they do not have a comment on their post out of a bot.
No worries about the grilling concern. I am just trying to be thorough in my replies. The email submission filter was seen as a low priority fix, and these articles were (and are) becoming caught in different filters, therefore it was deemed unneeded for now. However, the other filters are not specially designed for those articles, so just a portion are getting flagged. Once more of the important tasks are completed, we'll take a look at some of the lower priority ones. It would not require much time to get a setup set up to start testing an improved version. Also, the majority of subreddit moderation isn't visible openly, so although it might seem that we're not doing anything occasionally, there's a great deal that goes on behind the scenes as well as approving/removing posts and comments.
