The use of growth factor concentrates from autologous blood is a modern treatment method used to activate and accelerate the healing process of tissues in the body.
Both degenerative (through wear and tear) and traumatic (traumatic) conditions can be treated. Growth factors are found in platelet concentrate (PRP). A small amount of blood is drawn during preparation. Growth factors are produced directly in a closed sterile system.
The solution can be injected directly into the affected tissue or joint. Data from randomized trials of symptomatic treatment of degenerative knee joint changes were rated as good, and PRP is considered to be more effective than hyaluronic acid (HA), especially in the early stages of osteoarthritis.
The relationship with the treatment of tendon injuries, especially chronic tendon injuries, is based on studies showing that PRP can better and faster recover from tendon injuries. And reduce inflammation. The recommended treatment regimen is two to four injections of PRP with prp tubes two to four weeks apart.
The described treatment method is not intended to replace the known classical treatment methods, but to provide an alternative to the slow and difficult healing process.
We prefer to use growth factors for the following diseases:
- Chronic inflammation of tendons (Achilles tendon, tennis elbow)
- Heel spur with chronic soft tissue inflammation (plantar fasciitis)
- Partial tears of tendons
